Paul Olvhoj named Business and Community Growth Manager at Eyemouth Harbour

Eyemouth Harbour Trust has appointed Paul Olvhoj as its new Business and Community Growth Manager, bringing more than 25 years’ international experience to lead the next phase of investment and job creation at the Harbour.

Paul’s career includes service in the Royal Navy, roles in the energy sector in around the world and vessel chartering and agency. In his previous position, Paul was responsible for the commercial development of Orkney Harbour’s busy portfolio including the Port Masterplan. He will carry that experience to his role at Eyemouth, where he will focus on developing commercial opportunities and income streams that support the long-term sustainability of the harbour and the wider community.

Eyemouth Harbour Trust is currently progressing the delivery phase of its £250 million Harbour Masterplan vision, which sets out a framework for regeneration, marine-sector growth, improved infrastructure and wider economic benefits for the town and the South of Scotland. Paul’s role will include engagement with industry, investors and community partners to help realise these ambitions.

Christine Bell, Chief Executive of Eyemouth Harbour Trust, said: “Paul brings extensive commercial and maritime experience at a time when Eyemouth is preparing for its next phase of development. His background in marine services, shipping and energy, together with his experience of harbour masterplanning, will support our work to deliver the Harbour Masterplan and to secure new opportunities for the town and region. We look forward to working with him as part of the team at Eyemouth.”

Paul said: “I am delighted to be joining Eyemouth Harbour Trust at this important stage in its development. The harbour has significant potential to support local jobs, attract new business and contribute to the growth of the regional economy, and I look forward to working with colleagues and partners to help realise that potential.”
