The Draft Masterplan

Eyemouth Harbour Trust (EHT) is pleased to present its Draft Masterplan, a transformative and ambitious blueprint outlining the development and evolution of the harbour over the next 20 years. The Masterplan is in draft form for consultation, and when finalised aims to  meet the needs of current and future stakeholders while supporting the social and economic vitality of Eyemouth and its surrounding communities.

This long-term strategic vision builds on Eyemouth’s historic legacy and strategic location on Scotland’s east coast, positioning the harbour to capitalise on opportunities in key sectors such as fisheries, marine tourism, and offshore renewable energy. With support from the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund and partners such as South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and Scottish Borders Council (SBC), the Draft Masterplan reflects a collaborative effort to shape, safeguard and expand Eyemouth Harbour’s role as a regional economic hub.

How has the Draft Masterplan been created?

Interviews and consultation with stakeholders and the community between August and October 2024 has helped shape the Draft Masterplan, highlighting what is important to stakeholders, and understanding what issues and constraints exist as well as identifying opportunities for how the Harbour can contribute to a thriving community.

When will the final Masterplan be published?

Following the consultation period which ends on 9th January 2025, all feedback will be carefully considered, and the Masterplan will be finalised and published in February 2025.

How can I find out more about the Masterplan?

The Draft Masterplan is accessible in several ways and full details of locations, times and dates are included in ‘Have your Say’ section below. You can choose to attend one of the in-person drop-in sessions, read a hard copy at the Harbour Office or Eyemouth Library, or obtain a digital copy via email.

How do I comment on the Draft Masterplan?

There will be a feedback form available at all events detailed in the ‘Have your Say’ section below or you can complete an online survey here.

Have Your Say

The Draft Masterplan is now open for community feedback, and Eyemouth Harbour Trust is eager to hear from all stakeholders. Public consultation will run for five weeks, from Thursday, 5th December 2024, to Thursday, 9th January 2025. The Trust values the community’s input, which will be carefully considered, and the Final Masterplan then published.
