COVID-19: info for harbour users & visitors

Harbour Offices:
The majority of our operational and office staff are back working on-site.

Please note that these are only monitored during office hours.

During the summer months the harbour master’s office is open at the following times:

MONDAY 06:00 – 19:00   *
TUESDAY 06:00 – 19:00   *
WEDNESDAY 06:00 – 19:00   *
THURSDAY 06:00 – 19:00   *
FRIDAY 06:00 – 19:00   *
SATURDAY On call / Available:

08:00 – 17:00   *

SUNDAY On call / Available:

08:00 – 17:00   *

 The offices and facilities are accessible to harbour users only during manned hours, using the South entrance. Outside these hours’ facilities are available using a pass code.

* For access to facilities outside these hours, please obtain the door code from the harbour office.

We have implemented several measures to ensure the safety of customers, visitors and staff.
Access to our building is limited and you must wear a mask and use hand santiser in the common areas.
Signs and notices are in situ, our offices have screens in place and sanitiser is available through the building.

Please check in using the NHS Scotland track & trace app, available throughout the building.
If you feel unwell or have any of the symptoms of Covid-19 we ask that you do not enter our building and seek medical advice from NHS Scotland.

Cleaning:
Enhanced cleaning procedures are in place. All facilities including toilets, showers and internal doors and handles are cleaned daily.
Antibacterial  gel dispensers have been fitted within the harbour building and washing facilities are available. However we ask that you take your own precautions – for your own safety and the safety of those around you.

Follow Government advice:

  • Wash hands regulary, use antibacterial hand gels, wear gloves and masks
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Maintain social distancing measures

In addition please only come to the harbour building if it is safe to do so.

Parking:
Social distancing must be carried out be everyone on site – please bear this in mind when you are parking and moving around the harbour and quayside areas.
Please use designated parking areas around the quayside. Please refrain from parking on the middle pier.

Toilets, Showers and Laundry:
Our toilets, showers and laundry are open and are cleaned, disinfected daily.
For now we have closed a cubicle in the toilet & showers to lower capacity and ensure safe distancing.
We ask that everyone use our facilities with consideration for others.

Pontoons:
Please be mindful of others around you when using the pontoons, please wait for access ramps to be clear and do not congregate on the pontoons.

Fuel:
Vessels are encouraged to use their own keys for dispensing fuel.

Assisting you safely:
Should you require assistance when in the harbour please contact us. Our staff will endeavour to help you whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines.  Keeping our staff safe is our main concern so you may be asked to step aside.

Contractors:
Please also remember to bear in mind social distancing rules in relation to any contractors working on your vessels or the harbour area in the coming months

Visitors:
We are delighted to welcome visiting vessels back to the harbour and our pontoons. Please note that overnight stays should only be in line with current Government guidance for the Scottish Borders area (Covid Level 1 as of 10/06/2021). Scottish Government Coronavirus – Level 1 info

We currently have up to 6 berths available for visitors.
